THE FULL VILLARREAL BOISE ACADEMY LAUNCHES IN JUNE 2027!
The Road to Villarreal Boise is a journey, not a single event. Throughout the 2026-2027 season, we’ll gradually introduce (see Timeline of announcements below) the many exciting components of our historic partnership with La Liga Villarreal CF and its renown soccer academy, one of the finest and most productive in Europe, while implementing its methodology, coach education, technical leadership, player and team development opportunities, locally and in Spain, across our current competitive program.
For our current Real SC competitive players and families, this is your journey, too. You are not starting over or being left behind. The competitive program you are already part of is the foundation of Villarreal Boise, and throughout the 2026-27 season, you will be among the first to experience its new methodology, technical leadership, coaching development, and player and team opportunities. The Road to Villarreal Boise is the process of transforming and elevating the program you are already part of.
Then, in June 2027, the Road to Villarreal Boise reaches a major milestone. Our annual competitive tryouts, which traditionally mark the beginning of the new soccer year, will also mark the moment when the Villarreal CF Boise Academy officially opens its doors and programs to the public. At that point, the full Villarreal Boise competitive pathway will be operational under its new technical leadership structure, and our competitive teams will officially compete as Villarreal CF Boise Academy, or simply Villarreal Boise, wearing official Villarreal CF uniforms while proudly serving players and families throughout the entire Boise metropolitan area.
In other words, Villarreal Boise is for the entire Treasure Valley. Our future competitive program will serve players and families throughout the Boise metropolitan area, including Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Caldwell, Middleton, Nampa and surrounding communities.
Our Mini Monarchs (U3-U8) and Rec Royals (U9-U15) programs will continue operating under their established Real CF identities, preserving the strong recreational and developmental foundation that has been the hallmark of Real SC for more than two decades.

While Real SC/Villarreal Boise Academy (Treasure Valley) and Villarreal Idaho Academy (Eastern Idaho) each maintain their own direct affiliation with Villarreal CF in Spain, there will be a strong collaboration. For example, there will be opportunities for interested players to travel with our sister club Villarreal Idaho, including tournaments here in Idaho and at select events beyond Idaho. -
Villarreal CF’s Player Development Methodology Some elements of Villarreal CF’s methodology and internal training materials are proprietary and confidential, so we will not be able to share those specific details publicly. However, we will share what we are permitted to share about Villarreal CF’s broader training philosophy, player development principles, and methodology that are already in the public domain. The real beneficiaries of this incredible soccer treasure will be our coaches, who will have the opportunity to learn directly from Villarreal CF’s approach, locally and in Spain, and apply that knowledge to the development of our players. ⚽💛
