We have 4 sizes of socks, Kids, Youth, Adult and Adult+ (and a grip option also available) but it is normal that for some kids their closest fit still not comfortable.
We suggest allowing players to wear their preferred grip socks underneath the team’s official socks. This method was commonly used by professional players like Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, Hector Bellerin and many others, before most professional players adopted this practice. They cut the foot portion of their official socks to wear grip socks underneath for better comfort and performance. Now, some brands even offer sock tubes as well (which is the same concept as cutting the foot part – see how below). Pay attention in any soccer game and you will these things at play!
By keeping the team’s sock sleeves over the grip socks, we ensure the colors and logos are still visible and in line with our sponsorship’s agreements and our storied club colors, which are white (home games) and red with black accents for competitive (away games).
Proposing the solution to cut the foot portion of the socks does not diminish the quality of our socks. In fact, many professional players as mentioned before, even those using top brands, adopt this same approach, demonstrating that it is a practical and effective method without compromising performance or durability.
This practice is not only common among professional players but is also widely used in amateur sports, ensuring player comfort while respecting our uniform commitments.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that some professional players, like Real Madrid’s super star Jude Bellingham, and his teammates in the England national team Bukayo Saka and Connor Gallagher make modifications to their socks by cutting the calf area to relieve pressure.
Physiotherapist Nicki de Leona says players are making the holes to “maximise blood flow to their muscles and in particular their calves” by giving them more room to expand.

This kind of adjustment can enhance comfort without affecting performance, especially for those who may experience tightness around the calves. These modifications are common at the highest levels of the sport and demonstrate that changes to the socks can make a big difference in fit and feel.
SOCKS MODIFICATION
For those planning to modify the team socks, we recommend using sharp fabric scissors to cut just above the ankle and sealing the cut edges with fabric glue or clear nail polish to prevent fraying. This will ensure the socks remain neat and durable throughout matches. If you decide to go this route, we would like you to contact us after a few uses to see how this worked for your kid.
Many professional and amateur players adopt this modification for life as they prefer to use their favorite sport brand crew socks (whether with grip incorporated or not) and the club’s sock sleeve on top to conform with club colors and sponsorship requirements.
