Angel was born in Barcelona, where he played soccer and basketball regularly. He completed two degrees at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona: the first in Elementary Physical Education and the second in Pedagogy. He taught elementary P.E. classes and coached basketball and soccer in Barcelona with a variety of age groups, including children, teenagers, adults and senior citizens.
Angel has lived in Idaho since 2004. He earned a Master’s Degree in Bilingual Education from Boise State University in November of 2011. He currently teaches several levels of Spanish at Kuna High School, including a college credit class. He has more than 170 students and enjoys creating comprehensible narratives for his classes.
How we learn and why we learn are questions that Angel likes to explore in his learning and teaching experiences. He often tells hisSpanish students that “knowing the parts of the bike does not mean you can ride it”, and he tries to apply this idea while coaching and playing soccer. Angel wants the players to be immersed in the game, and he believe that soccer should be enjoyed and experienced in its entirety.
Note: Coach Angel was one of the first coaches who joined Real years ago and has coached a variety of competitive teams as well as Youth Academy teams for our club.

I’m the drama teacher at Lowell Scott, and a main element of being a good actor, or singer, or any performer is learning to stay focused, and in-the-moment. If a performer drops their focus and starts reacting to the sights of the audience, they’ll often become paralyzed by stage fright. As I learn and teach these mental activities in my drama class, I see how these skills can cross over into athletics and into further aspects of life. I’m now studying “mental training in sports”, and I consider it a privilege to experiment and hone my skills as a teacher with this club.
