The U13G Bombers did it again this weekend! Two in arrow for the Real soccer club! This time playing at home (Gem State Challenge 2012, Boise), the U13 Girls lead by coach Melinda Bodine-Stevens won their second consecutive tournament in just two weeks beating Soccer Xpress in the final 1-0 in a very intense and leveled match. After this weekend’s magnificent 4-0-0 record, 5 goals scored and none received Coach Melinda stated:
“CHAMPIONS!!! Congratulations again girls on another hard fought and well deserved championship. While all the girls stepped up this weekend, there was some particularly special play that I feel still needs to be recognized. If you don’t know, in soccer when a goalie records a shut-out, or concedes zero goals in a game, it is called ‘keeping a clean sheet’. I need to point out that Maddy Boehland kept a clean sheet for the entire tournament – Absolutely Fantastic Keeping! Credit is also due to a fabulous back-line. Thank you Abby, Tylee, Hayley, Amber, Journi & Morgan. Offense sells tickets, but Defense wins Championships!”
