REAL BOISE CF U19G, BRONZE MEDAL AT STATE CUP 2018!

Congratulations to our U19G Real Boise CF Heat Sevilla Black for placing 3rd and receiving the bronze medal in this year’s State Cup Tournament.  This amazing group finish as semi-finalist for the third time in four years.  This year was a little different from previous State Cups with the team placing as one of the top three U19G teams in the State of Idaho. This accomplishment is the highest finish of any Real girls team.  Katarina Ostrowski “Kat” lead the team in goals scored this weekend and finished with a hat-trick, three goals scored during the last match.

The girls played exceptionally well throughout the tournament and set themselves up with a bronze medal match vs Soccer Xpress.  This team dominated match play with a decisive 6-0 shutout.  The team accounted for 12 goals in State Cup competition.  The real difference was the exceptional play of the team’s back line.  Clair Lucas and Hilda Briceno anchored the defense with exceptional play all weekend long.

“It is not just that these girls got bronze. It is the way they played. They represented Real’s vision on how our teams should play. Playing from the back, possessing with a purpose, playing calmed and composed to control games and using fast transitions when the right moments arrived” said DOC Juanjo Carmona.

The team stepped up to the challenge again this season by placing 2nd in IYSA ISL U18/19G Division 1 league play.  The team established another significant milestone this season by winning their 100th match since the team’s inception in the fall of 2011.

“This team continues to amaze me and those who watch them”. commented their coach John Jackson, “I am extremely proud of this group, they are a team of amazing players who continue to set the bar higher and higher each year.”

Carmona also commented along these lines “This Real Boise U19 group, together with our U18 girls team, are an amazing pool of talented players and look forward to see what they can achieve next year. We will keep a lot of them. This was a very young team playing in the 1999 bracket. Players from the U18G in Boise and U17G in Middleton also contributed to this memorable moment in our storied history. We are all exultant.”

Coach John has been with this team since it’s beginnings over seven years ago and sadly will be stepping down as their coach at the end of the season.  “I am going to miss this wonderful team, but I know they will be in very capable hands with their incoming coaches”.  “This is NOT the end of Heat, just a new chapter in it’s amazing story, rest accrued that this team will be setting it sights to great accomplishments next year…2019 Idaho State Cup Champions!”

For now, congratulations for taking the bronze medal and placing as the top three U19G team in Idaho. Well done ladies, you have proven again without a doubt that you are an amazing group of players!
