A journey of goals, grit, and unforgettable teamwork. Read Coach Guy’s full, heartfelt tribute to his Directors Cup championship squad, plus a special look at the team’s incredible battle in their most recent tournament final!
While the official tournament stats from that championship weekend are incredibly impressive—22 goals scored, only 2 allowed, and 3 clean sheets—the true story lies in the heart, discipline, and work rate shown by this special group of players.
Following the final whistle, Coach Guy shared this beautiful, unfiltered message with the team families, celebrating every single boy and the community that supports them:
“DIRECTORS CUP CHAMPIONS 🏆🥇 What a weekend from this group. On Thursday, I was not happy with how we finished that first Rush game, and I wanted to see a real response. The boys gave one. Big time. Final: 5-0 win This team showed up all weekend. Weekend results – SSC — 7-0 – NBFC — 5-0 – Rush — 5-2 – Final vs Rush — 5-0 Tournament totals – 22 goals scored ( could easily have 5 more each game) – 2 goals allowed – 3 clean sheets Goals – Abe — 15 – James — 2 – Bowen — 2 – Brody — 1 – Kruz — 1 – Cruz — 1 – Landon — 1 Assists – James — 4 – Abe — 3 – Brody — 2 – PK — 2 – Bowen — 1 – Gage — 1 – Mateo — 1 – Abe, Gage, PK, James, Bowen, Mateo, and Brody all had big moments creating chances for others too. And honestly, the stats are only part of it. Landon showed up big time this weekend. Bowen, Daniil, and Gage were excellent. Brody was just WOW all weekend. James and PK were flying down the wings. Abe: Player of the Tournament. Enough said! And the bench mattered too. A lot. Cruz and Kruz caused problems all weekend, not just to me 🤦🏻♂️ but also to the other teams. Mateo, Arik, Nana, Liam and Benjamin gave us exactly what we needed when we needed it. (I know some had limited playtime, I tried to ensure that everyone was included) What stood out most was the work rate, discipline, and the way the boys competed for each other. That is what we ask from them as coaches. It is not always easy, and it is not always fun in the moment, but days like this make it worth it, our boys might not be the best players or have fancy uniforms or a big name club but when they play like that and play for each other, it’s the best show in town. First place. Gold medals. Trophy. 👏👏👏 First I want to thank Isaiah for all the help. I really appreciate everything he did this weekend. I also want to thank all of you parents for being there, supporting the team, and trusting what we are trying to build with these boys. Thank you as well to our field marshals, Kalian and Devin 🫡 And most of all, thank you to our boys. They were the best show in town this weekend, and they earned this one. Please take a minute to tell them how proud you are of them. I did grab 2 medal for both Liam & Nasier. Real Boise Celta 💪⚽️”
The Winning Streak Continues: Champions with Heart
The momentum from that incredible Directors Cup victory carried right over into this past weekend! The boys put together yet another sensational tournament run, reaching the final after racking up 3 consecutive victories, scoring 19 goals, and conceding only 5.
Although Memorial Day weekend’s final game was an absolute war where the ball simply refused to cooperate with destiny—striking the crossbar and the post three different times in a narrow 1-0 loss against Rush—these boys showed the world exactly what they are made of.
Real Soccer Club extends a huge congratulations to Coach Guy, Coach Isaiah, and every single family member who cheered these boys on to victory. You are building something truly special!
Vamos Real! 💪⚽🔥
