Note: If you do not want to play in our competitive program, you can play in our academy program (U4-U9) or rec program (U10-U15) and no tryouts are necessary! Register here for next season.

2024-2025 SOCCERΒ TRYOUTS FOR U9 – U19 PLAYERS (born 2006-2016)

IMPORTANT: Pre-registration to attend tryouts is not needed at our club. Please, just show up 15 minutes before your scheduled time (see below), that’s it!

TRYOUT SCHEDULE

WHO:

  • 2006-2016 (U9-U19) PLAYERS INTERESTED IN JOINING ANY REAL S.C. TEAMS (REAL BOISE, REAL CALDWELL, REAL MERIDIAN & REAL MIDDLETON) &
  • RETURNING PLAYERS.

WHEN:

Mon, June 3rd & Tue, June 4th, 2024 (see times & locations below).

Attending both days is not mandatory, but it is recommended.

Right after their first tryout, players will receive one of two letters at the tryout field from their coach, as follows:

(1) an acceptance letter (that is, a team spot has been awarded to the player) with further instructions on registration etc

OR

(2) a letter recommending them to set up another assessment or recommending them to join our rec program.

When: Mon, June 3rd & Tue, June 4th, 2024


Real Middleton & Real Caldwell Location (Joint Tryouts): Place Park, Middleton, ID (75 Marjorie Avenue, Middleton)

  • ALL U9-U19 Boys & Girls: 6:00pm-7:30pm
    • U9-U12 (born 2013-2016): North Side of the Park
    • U13-U19 (born 2006-2012): South Side of the Park

All players must arrive 15 minutes earlier to check-in. Please, bring water, shinguards and an inflated soccer ball. Be prepared for weather. No pre-registration is needed to attend.

Note: TRYOUT MAKE-UPS MAY BE OFFERED IN A PER TEAM BASIS. If you are going to be missing tryouts please contact your coach. If you are a new player, please call 208-713-8924.

When: Mon, June 3rd & Tue, June 4th, 2024


Real Boise & Real Meridian Location (Joint Tryouts): Joplin Elementary, Boise ID (12081 W De Meyer St, Boise)

  • Boys and Girls: 6:00 pm-7:30 pm
    • NOTE: In the Boise tryout this year, we will only be looking at U9-U16 players, that is, those born between 2009 and 2016. If you are U17 and above, you can still try out for our older teams in Middleton.

REGISTRATION NOTES


  • Current Club Players: We can offer spots and allow our currently registered players/families to register here before tryouts!Β For any of our current players registering before tryouts, should they wish to cancel that registration they may do so up until the official signing period on June 10th, 2024 (which is one week after tryouts). Players can register online to accept the spot at https://realsoccerclub.org/player-registration/

  • New players interested in joining the Real Soccer Club (as well as current Real Soccer players) need to attend tryouts starting June 3rd. Note attending both days (June 3rd and June 4th) is not mandatory by IYSA rules.

Coaches will notify new players if they have made their team starting after the first tryout session on Monday, June 3rd (or June 4th if you did not come on June 3rd). To accept the spot, please complete the 2024-25 player registration online with our club in our web site. Instructions for registration will also be included in the tryout packet players will receive during tryouts. Registrations become official on Monday, June 10th.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

(1) DO I NEED TO PRE CHECK-IN ONLINE TO ATTEND TRYOUTS?

Players do NOT need to check-in/pre-register online to attend tryouts! We will have check-in sheets at tryouts to enter your name, date of birth, and contact info.

All players must arrive 15-20 minutes early to check-in at the corresponding age group check-in table.

(3) HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO PLAY FOR A REAL COMPETITIVE PROGRAM TEAM (U9-U19)?

Real SC is a leader in LOW FEES and RESOURCES at all levels!

The data below was gathered in Spring 2022 by visiting various established clubs’ web sites for those offering boys and girls competitive teams and to the best of our knowledge. Please visit clubs web sites for more information as we did not find any fees data for some clubs.


(4) MY KID IS a U8 player. CAN HE/SHE STAY IN THE ACADEMY ONE MORE YEAR?
Yes, players who were born in 2016 are eligible to play in the academy in Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 as a U9 player (they officially are U9 starting August 1st of this year). However, we encourage these players to attend tryouts for an additional soccer experience!

(5) MY KID IS PLAYING IN THE REAL SC ACADEMY and WILL LIKE TO ATTEND TRYOUTS AND PLAY COMPETITIVE NEXT SEASON. WHAT ARE THE MAIN DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ACADEMY AND COMPETITIVE AT REAL S.C.?

(6) WHERE DO I REGISTER FOR THE 2024-2025 SEASON?
  • Current players register online here. Those who can’t attend tryouts will need to let their coach know so he or she can tell them if they have a spot on their team for the upcoming soccer year. Then the player can register in the same link here to accept the spot.
  • For prospective new players, coaches will notify players if they have made their team starting after the first tryout session on Monday, June 3rd (or on June 4th if they did not attend on June 3rd). To accept the spot, please complete the registration online with our club in our web site.
